Butterflies
I went to some indoor gardens with my family today. They had some butterflies and a lot of flowers. There were a bunch of lessons today:
- Portraits of family members being silly are pretty straightforward and fun.
- Pictures of butterflies sitting on someone's hand are hard to make look good. At the moment, the most frustrating part was that the butterflies would chill out very quickly and fold up their wings. But in retrospect, I should have spent more time framing.
- I have no idea how to take pictures of flowers that I think are interesting and in any way me.
- I feel like my camera doesn't always take a picture when I think it does, and I need to figure out why. Or I don't take as many photos as I think I do.
- Thinking about how to arrange everything that's in the frame by moving around is hard. Getting two people in the frame is easy, but I don't notice I should center the fountain behind them until reviewing photos afterward.
- Bring an extra battery. And charge the battery in the camera occasionally.
